Is Aerolase safe for darker skin tones?+
Yes. The 650-microsecond pulse duration is specifically engineered to be safe on Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin types — one of the reasons we chose this platform for our diverse Northern Virginia clientele.
How many sessions do I need?+
A series of 4–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart delivers optimal results. Maintenance is quarterly for most clients. Karlyne will build a plan specific to your skin at consultation.
What's the downtime?+
Most clients experience 2–4 hours of light warmth or redness — similar to a mild sunburn — with no visible peeling. You can typically apply makeup the same day.
Does it treat melasma?+
Yes, cautiously. Melasma requires a specific low-fluence protocol combined with topical support. This is why our clients travel from across DC and NoVa — melasma is misdiagnosed and mistreated everywhere else.
Can I combine it with other treatments?+
Absolutely. Many of our members alternate laser with microneedling and facials. We design cadenced protocols that compound.
